Paula and I have moved to the midlands in Tasmania. This doesn't mean we've abandoned you. We've left "Paramedic Phil" to look after the on-the-ground issues you may have. The 1300 300 603 number will now be fielded by him. I have every confidence in him to be able to fill the shoes I've left him; he's one of the very few "naturals" at computer troubleshooting I've ever come across. (Also, he still has access to me over the phone if he does get himself stuck, an increasingly rare event.)
I (Dave) can still help you over the phone on either (03) 6384 2319 or 0419 282 382 or via the internet, using remote control software that will allow me (by your invitation) to assume temporary control of your computer from here. Using this technology enables me to charge half the on-site rate (so, $60/ half hour on-site, $60 per hour by remote) for issues that don't need a visit in person, as I don't need to leave home. Obviously, if the computer won't come/stay on or if the issue is that you can't connect to the net, which requires a home visit.
This reduced cost makes the remote sessions ideal for a "check-up". Like having a car service, it's a good idea to have a professional look over your computer every now and then to make sure all your security measures, device drivers, and other software are as up-to-date as possible, thus reducing the risk of down-time. Preventative maintenance is cheaper than repairs after all, not just in terms of dollars, but also in terms of time. If you're interested in having some maintenance done, or are having some minor nagging issues that don't really need a home visit, please don't hesitate to call. One of the other advantages of remote access software is that, most of the time; I'll be able to help you there and then, rather than having to wait for me (or Phil now) to come out to you.
